I attended the Michael Costello runway show where the theme was gowns, gowns, gowns everywhere. I think we all know Michael Costello from Project Runway and there is no doubt in our minds that his thing is gowns, although straying a bit from the gowns with the jumpsuits he still has his signature look of even simple is big.
Filled with gowns or even swimsuit looking gowns or probably more suited for a pageant outfit. Models with crowns, swimsuits, gowns… yeah all we needed was a few seconds of talk from each model and it was like watching Miss America.
Michael Costello has found his niche!
At the show I got to meet with some of the stylists backstage and I met the lovely and talented Sarah Adams. And I thought I would change it up this time. Normally I go on and on about my take on the show and all of the celebrities… mind you there were no shortage of those people like Paris and Nicky Hilton, ZZ Ward and Robert Verdi showed up for this talk of the town runway show… but back to my stylist…
Why not have a few words from the stylist instead. We NEVER get their perspective of how they think before prepping for a show so here she is in her own words Sarah Adams.
“A backstage perspective with Portland hairstylist Sarah Adams. Working behind the scenes on the Beauty Underground Artistic team led by Charlie Price was incredible. The look: She was to be a polished, young social type with a modern vibe and a nod to the 70’s. The hair was set with iron curls all in the same direction and then brushed out and polished into a smooth wave off the shoulder. The makeup was fresh skin and a bold matte pinky violet lip from NARS cosmetics.
Michael’s designs were simply stunning, straying a bit from his famous flamboyant flares adding jumpsuits, big jewel details, and sequins. The palette was nude and bright pink, emerald green, gold and sunflower yellow. Pops of floral and lots of skin.”
